# Legacy Experience

Learn how to create an Appointment using the Legacy experience in Maica

Maica offers two experiences for creating and managing Appointments, **Standard** and **Legacy**. The experience you see depends on your organisation's settings. If your screen does not look like the one described below, contact your administrator.

In the Legacy experience, an Appointment is created through a series of stages. Each stage covers one part of the Appointment, and the stages are completed in turn before the Appointment is confirmed.

## Appointment stages

After the new Appointment is created, a few stages must be completed before the Appointment can be confirmed.

The available stages are configurable and determined by the selected [Appointment Services](/maica-knowledge-base/getting-started/maica-key-concepts/appointment-service.md) and the Maica Settings. For further information, see the Administration Guide.
