Welcome to Residential Aged Care
Maica's Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) solution helps your team manage residents in a residential aged care home from admission through to departure. It covers the resident agreement, fee and accommodation setup, the resident lifecycle, billing, and the reporting and reconciliation you carry out with Services Australia.
This User Guide is written for the people who run these processes day to day: care administration, finance, and front-office staff. It focuses on how to complete each task in Maica. For how the solution is configured, architected, and integrated, see the companion Administration Guide.
New to the solution? Start with Introduction to the RACS Solution and Key Concepts and Terminology, then work through the sections in order.
What's in this guide
Getting Started covers what the solution does, the core terms and acronyms, and how fee and accommodation arrangements work. See Introduction to the RACS Solution.
Managing Service Agreements is where you set up and maintain a resident's agreement across the Fees, RAD/RAC, and Accommodation tabs. See The Manage RACS Agreement Component.
The Resident Lifecycle walks through admitting a resident, managing respite and temporary leave, and processing a departure, death, or lump sum refund. See Admitting a Resident.
Fees and Billing explains the residential care fee types, how billing works, fee treatment during leave, and how corrections are applied. See How Resident Billing Works.
Working with Services Australia covers how Maica connects to Services Australia, submitting events, keeping resident data in sync, and reporting RAD/RAC balances. See How Maica Connects to Services Australia.
Reconciliation explains how to reconcile Services Australia payments against your invoices. See Reconciling Payments.
Reporting and Compliance covers your reporting obligations and how to meet them, including 24/7 registered nurse coverage, the Quarterly Financial Report, SIRS notifications, and the APCS ledger export. See Reporting Obligations Overview.
