# Legacy Experience

Learn how to create a Shift using the Legacy experience in Maica

{% hint style="info" %}
Maica offers two experiences for creating and managing Shifts, **Standard** and **Legacy**. The experience you see depends on your organisation's settings. If your screen does not look like the one described below, contact your administrator.
{% endhint %}

In the Legacy experience, a Shift is created through a series of stages. Each stage covers one part of the Shift, and the stages are completed in turn before the Shift is confirmed.

Please see below for an example:

## Shift stages

After the new Shift is created, a few stages must be completed before the Shift can be confirmed.

{% hint style="info" %}
The available stages are determined by the Maica Settings. For further information, see [Service Management](/maica-knowledge-base/maica-administration-guide/settings/service-management.md) in the Administration Guide.
{% endhint %}
